Zuky Hernandez
Director of Programs
Hello. I was born and raised right here in Parker, Arizona. After I graduated from Parker High School in 1995 I moved to Flagstaff, Arizona and attended Coconino County Community College. After one semester, I realized that the snow was not for me and decided to move to El Centro, California. The weather there was closer to what I was used to so I was able to stay there for three years and attend Imperial Valley College. I relocated to San Diego, California, where I resided for one year. After just one year of living in San Diego, I ran into an old buddy of mine, Frank, from high school. He had just gotten out of the U.S. Navy. I knew almost instantly that he'd be the one, so far I've been right. At that point Frank had been living in Mesa, Arizona. I decided to join him in Mesa and start a new life. Frank and I were married May, 2001. We decided that Mesa was not a real safe environment to raise our children, at least not compared to Parker, so he accepted a job transfer and we moved back home to Parker in July, 2002. We have two children: Chloe and Frankie.
Frank has worked with the La Paz County Career Center for a few years and my journey with PAACE began in October, 2002. I was first hired on by PAACE as the Family Recruit & Retain Specialist for the Strengthening Families Program. I have since moved up the chain some, but I am still very much involved with the program as the Director.
My husband and I both keep very busy with our children, as well as our other commitments to our community. Frank serves on the Town Council and is the President of the Women's Crisis Shelter. Asides from being the Director of Programs for PAACE I also am the Club Leader for the very awesome Youth for Youth 4-H Club.
I honestly can say that I love my job and the organization that I work for. I strongly believe in what we're doing for the youth in the community. So if you'd like to find out what all the hype is about, come visit me!
